Oct 15th 2007Jimmy Page Ready To TourJimmy Page expresses his desire to tour again with Led Zeppelin. Coming off their successful reunion show 12-10-07, Page says he looks forward to hitting road, but most likely not until the fall of 2008. While in Japan promoting the latest Led Zeppelin release 'Mothership' Page said they rehearsed rigorously for the show and once they started jamming the chemistry was the same as its always been. "The amount of work we put into O2 was what you would normally put into a world tour anyway," Page, 64, said of the intense rehearsing the band did for the Dec. 10 concert at London's O2 Arena. Page believed the reunion show, the first in 20 years, proved they could still Rock & Roll with the same voracity and chemistry as in the early days of Led Zeppelin. The tour would have to wait at least until Sept 2008 as Robert Plant is touring to promote his new album with Alison Krause 'Raising Sand' which was released this past October. |

Using the name The New Yardbirds, the band was
formed on 1968 by Jimmy Page. The New Yardbirds consisted of Page,
vocalist Robert Plant, drummer John Bonham, and former Yardbirds bassist
Chris Dreja, but Dreja left early in the project to become a photographer
(and would later take the photograph that appeared on the back of
the group's debut album). He was replaced by Page's long-time friend
John Paul Jones. Page's first choice as singer, Terry Reid, declined
the opportunity but recommended Plant, who accepted and then brought
in his old friend Bonham from the defunct Band of Joy.
